I am Fawn Heart Cronin, a NASM certified personal trainer for women, specializing in pre and postnatal training while utilizing corrective exercise techniques to approach exercise in a safe and effective manner.
A mother, former model and dancer, I have experienced what it is like to test my body's limits and work to meet the challenges that it faces on a daily basis.
Through my experience as a model and dancer, I saw many women struggle to lead healthy lives as they forced themselves to ignore their body's needs and focus only on the expectations of the next casting director. As one of them, I vigorously trained my body to meet the demands of the world of ballet and hip hop, and worked in the hustle and bustle of the fashion industry, striving to meet the physical standards of what the runway required.
Now a mother, I can tell you that no challenge is greater than that of being a woman carrying a little human in her body for 40 weeks followed by delivery.
During my pregnancy, I went from being a svelte, fit woman, to a woman who had to start from scratch again after a 50 lb. weight gain during pregnancy. I exercised during those 40 weeks, but was destined to deliver a 10 lb. 9 oz. baby! Needless to say, not all that baby weight came off right away.
Working with a new body, I soon realized that the only way that I was going to enjoy the process of losing weight and getting in shape was to accept the person I saw in the mirror as she is, not as she was. While it was one of the most difficult challenges to face, I did so with complete dedication, and am now proud to say that due to a healthy diet and consistent exercise routine, I am once again a svelte, fit, and happy woman.
I am here to offer my services to those women who are looking to take control of their bodies and wish to make a change in their lifestyle by embracing exercise as the first step toward establishing healthy habits. I want to help other women realize what it really means to take care of the body--to nourish, strengthen and condition it.
